The ACCUPRO ACC-BB3601500A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance bores in hardened ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The bar features a TiAlN finish coating that resists heat buildup and extends tool life in interrupted cuts or dry machining conditions. With a 0.36-inch minimum bore diameter and a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, it is well suited for small-diameter, moderate-depth applications where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this tool.
This boring bar is intended for shop environments performing precision internal diameter work on production runs or prototype components. It fits tooling setups with a 3/8-inch shank bore on the tool holder, making it compatible with standard boring bar holders commonly found on small to mid-size turning centers and manual lathes. The right-hand cutting direction suits conventional external spindle rotation setups. It is appropriate for applications in aerospace, automotive, and general machining where micrograin carbide hardness is required to hold size and finish in difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style boring bar for use in standard 3/8-inch shank boring bar holders on CNC and manual turning centers configured for right-hand cutting operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the boring bar from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully engaged in the holder to the minimum recommended insertion depth to prevent chatter and tool pullout. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures before any tooling change.
