The ACCUPRO ACC-BB320600 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade carbide with a bright finish, it delivers tight dimensional control in small-diameter bores. The bar accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.32 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 0.60 inches, making it suited to shallow, close-tolerance applications. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length fit standard tool holders used in production and toolroom environments. Machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, aerospace component work, or general precision turning will find this bar at home on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This boring bar is intended for right-hand cutting operations on lathes where the spindle turns counterclockwise when viewed from the tailstock, or on machines configured for right-hand tooling. It is appropriate for short-reach internal diameter finishing and sizing passes where rigidity and runout control are critical. The submicron carbide grade supports higher surface feet per minute and longer tool life compared to standard carbide grades, particularly in interrupted cuts or hard materials. Typical users include machinists in production shops, tool-and-die operations, and maintenance machine shops.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use boring bar for lathes and turning centers equipped with 3/8-inch boring bar holders or tool blocks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with lathe tooling setup. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or adjusting the boring bar in its holder. Ensure the bar is clamped securely with adequate shank engagement, typically a minimum of 1.5 times the shank diameter, to minimize deflection and chatter. Verify tool height is set on centerline before taking any cut.
