The ACCUPRO ACC-BB200500 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade carbide with a bright finish, this bar delivers consistent dimensional accuracy in small-bore applications. It features a 0.2 inch minimum bore diameter and a maximum bore depth of 0.5 inches, making it suited for tight-tolerance work in small bores. The 1/4 inch shank diameter and 2.5 inch overall length keep it compact and rigid. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical installer.
This boring bar is intended for right-hand cutting operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small, rigid tool is required. It is well suited for production machining environments, toolrooms, and job shops that require repeatable bore geometry in shallow, small-diameter features. The submicron carbide grade supports use in interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials where standard carbide grades may not hold an edge.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit boring bar for tool holders accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter in standard CNC and manual turning applications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or adjusting the boring bar. Seat the shank fully and squarely in the tool holder and tighten set screws evenly to minimize runout. Verify bore depth and diameter with calibrated gauging before committing to a finish pass.
