The ACCUPRO ACC-BB160500 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright finish, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance bore work. The bar has a 0.16 inch minimum bore diameter and cuts to a maximum depth of 0.50 inches. With a 3/16 inch shank diameter and a 2.00 inch overall length, it fits standard boring bar holders used in light to medium turning applications. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal boring on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional lathe spindle rotation. The submicron carbide grade provides wear resistance in both interrupted and continuous cuts at the smaller bore sizes where high-speed steel tooling typically underperforms. Its compact overall length makes it appropriate for short-reach setups where tool deflection must be minimized.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for boring bar holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter in CNC and manual lathe setups.
This boring bar is installed and qualified by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank fully in the tool holder with the recommended clamping torque specified by the holder manufacturer. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Avoid extending the bar beyond the minimum recommended shank engagement length, as overhang increases deflection and reduces bore accuracy at small diameters.
