The ACCUPRO ACC-BB160400G is a solid carbide boring bar engineered for precision internal boring in tight-diameter applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.4 inches. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length make it well-suited for small-bore work on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The right-hand cutting direction follows standard toolholder orientation. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision CNC operators are the primary users of this tool on production and job-shop floors.
This boring bar is used in applications requiring accurate, small-diameter internal finishing passes on metal workpieces. Typical use cases include bore sizing, diameter cleanup after drilling, and achieving close tolerances on short-depth bores. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher cutting speeds and improved edge retention compared to standard carbide grades, making it appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for small-bore internal turning applications on CNC and manual lathes accepting a 3/16-inch shank boring bar.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or adjusting the boring bar in its toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder set screw is properly secured before resuming cuts. Inspect the cutting edge for chips or wear before each production run to avoid dimensional drift.
