The ACCUPRO ACC-BB120700G is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from micrograin solid carbide stock, this right-hand-cut bar delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for tight-tolerance bores. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish coating reduces friction and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.12 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.7 inches, it targets small-diameter, shallow-bore applications where rigidity and runout control are critical. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length make it a compact, direct-mount tooling solution.
This boring bar is suited for job shops, production turning cells, and toolroom environments handling small-bore work on ferrous alloys, aluminum, and plastics. Its compact geometry fits tight-clearance toolholders and gang-style turret setups common on Swiss-type and small-footprint CNC lathes. Machinists and CNC operators working sub-quarter-inch bore applications will find the micrograin carbide grade appropriate for fine finishing and light roughing passes at elevated surface speeds.
Designed for use in standard boring bar toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch round shank, compatible with CNC lathes, manual turning centers, and gang-turret setups configured for right-hand internal boring operations.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in an e-stop or powered-down state and all axes at a safe home position. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended clamping depth to minimize overhang and vibration. Verify bore diameter and depth clearance against the workpiece drawing before running the first pass. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid impact or dropping, and do not use this bar for interrupted cuts beyond its rated capacity.
