The ACCUPRO ACC-BB080400 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright finish coating, it delivers tight dimensional control in small-bore applications. The bar features a 0.08 inch minimum bore diameter and a 0.4 inch maximum bore depth, making it well suited for fine, close-tolerance bores in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. With a 1/8 inch shank diameter and a 1.5 inch overall length, this is a compact tool intended for small-part machining where rigidity and runout control are critical. Right-hand cut geometry is standard.
This boring bar is used in production and job-shop environments where small internal diameters must be held to close tolerances. It is appropriate for machining ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other materials where submicron carbide grade provides the necessary wear resistance. Typical applications include small-diameter bore finishing on turned components, medical parts, aerospace fittings, and precision instrumentation housings. Machinists and CNC operators working with Swiss-type or gang-tool lathes will find the compact shank size directly applicable.
Designed as an OEM-style boring bar for use in tool holders and boring bar holders accepting a 1/8 inch round shank, compatible with CNC lathes, manual turning centers, and Swiss-type machines configured for right-hand internal boring operations.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before mounting or removing cutting tools. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized boring bar holder or collet to minimize overhang and maximize rigidity. Verify runout with a dial indicator before taking finish cuts, as excess runout will directly affect bore accuracy at this diameter range.
