The ACCUPRO A-6140150R is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create accurate, burr-free center points before through-drilling operations. The 120-degree drill point angle conforms to standard twist drill geometry, allowing the spotting drill to seat cleanly and guide follow-on tools without walking. At 1.5mm cutting diameter with a 2mm straight-cylindrical shank, this is a precision micro-drilling tool suited for tight-tolerance work in metals, plastics, and composite materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes it straightforward to inspect for wear. Two spiral flutes support chip evacuation over the 4.7mm flute length. Machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators handling small-diameter work are the primary users.
This spotting drill is applied in general-purpose machining environments where accurate hole location is critical before drilling, reaming, or tapping. The 120-degree included angle makes it compatible with standard twist drill follow-up without producing a mismatched countersink shoulder. Its 38mm overall length fits standard collet and drill chuck setups on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. The 2mm shank diameter accommodates small-bore collets and precision chucks commonly used in watchmaking, medical device machining, electronics fabrication, and fine metalwork applications.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill for use in collet chucks and precision drill chucks accepting a 2mm straight-cylindrical shank, suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines running right-hand spindle rotation.
A licensed machinist or CNC operator should verify spindle speed and feed rate against the workpiece material before running this tool, as micro-diameter carbide drills are sensitive to runout and excessive feed pressure. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck and confirm minimal runout before starting the cut. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before tool changes. Avoid side loading or using this tool as a reamer, as the small diameter makes solid carbide susceptible to fracture under lateral force.
