The ACCUPRO A-6120218R is a wire gauge size 44 micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required when working with hard or abrasive materials at small diameters. The 120-degree point angle reduces thrust force and promotes accurate entry without walking. At 0.0858 inches (2.18 mm) in diameter and 38 mm overall length, this bit is sized for miniature-series work where standard jobber bits are too large or too flexible to maintain positional accuracy.
This micro drill bit is used in precision machining environments including mold and die work, electronics manufacturing, medical device fabrication, and aerospace component drilling. The spiral flute design promotes chip evacuation in blind and through holes. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3 mm diameter seats securely in standard collet chucks and keyless drill chucks compatible with miniature-series tooling. Right-hand cutting direction matches conventional spindle rotation on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and bench drill presses. Coolant-through capability is not supported; flood or mist coolant applied externally is appropriate for extended run cycles.
Designed for use in miniature-series drilling applications with collet chucks or keyless drill chucks accepting a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank, on CNC machining centers, manual mills, or bench drill presses running right-hand spindle rotation.
Secure the shank fully within the collet or chuck to the recommended engagement depth before beginning operation. Always bring the spindle to full speed before contact with the workpiece, and use appropriate feed rates for carbide tooling at this diameter to avoid bit breakage. Solid carbide bits are brittle and should not be used in setups with excessive runout or lateral loading. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before each use and replace the bit at the first sign of chipping or edge wear.
