The ACCUPRO A-6100170R is a solid carbide micro drill bit sized at 1.70 mm (0.0669 inches, wire size No. 51) with a 120-degree drill point angle. Built from solid carbide with a bright/uncoated finish, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for precision small-diameter drilling. The overall length measures 38.00 mm with a 12.00 mm flute length and a 2.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. The right-hand, regular spiral flute design promotes consistent chip evacuation in tight bore applications. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators working with tight-tolerance hole requirements.
The A-6100170R is designed for miniature series drilling operations where small hole diameter accuracy is critical. Typical applications include precision metalworking, electronics manufacturing, instrumentation fabrication, and prototype machining where hole diameters in the sub-2 mm range are required. The standard point geometry and spiral flute type make it compatible with conventional drill press and CNC drilling setups running appropriate feed and speed parameters for carbide tooling. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; flood or mist cooling at the work surface is the standard approach.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature series micro drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC spindles accepting a 2.00 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling protocols. Secure the straight cylindrical shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Carbide micro bits are brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed reduction, or excessive run-out, as these conditions will cause breakage. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate against published carbide tooling guidelines for the workpiece material before drilling.
