The ACCUPRO A-6100014R is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in miniature and tight-tolerance applications. At 0.0055 inches in diameter, this bit falls in the micro-range and is built for use in materials that demand dimensional accuracy and controlled entry geometry. The 120-degree drill point angle promotes centered starts and reduces walking on hard or thin substrates. With a 25.00 mm overall length and a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts cleanly in standard micro-drill chucks and collet systems. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the carbide surface consistent for applications where coating buildup or chemical interaction is a concern.
This drill bit is suited for precision machining operations including PCB drilling, watchmaking, medical device manufacturing, instrument fabrication, and other applications where sub-0.010-inch hole tolerances are required. The right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute geometry support clean chip evacuation at high spindle speeds typical in micro-drilling setups. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators using CNC or manual micro-drilling equipment. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so external or mist coolant should be used when the material and setup require it.
Designed as an OEM-style micro drill bit in the Miniature Series, compatible with micro-drilling setups using a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank chuck or collet.
Micro drill bits at this diameter are extremely fragile and require a rigid, low-runout spindle to prevent breakage. Ensure the shank is fully seated and concentric in the collet before operation. Feed rates and spindle speeds should be dialed in for the specific workpiece material, as excessive feed force at this diameter will snap the bit. External or mist coolant is recommended when drilling heat-sensitive or abrasive materials, since this bit does not support coolant-through.
