The ACCUPRO 95172658 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter with a 0.0150 inch corner radius, producing consistent radiused edges and reducing stress concentrations in machined parts. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The AlCrTiN PVD coating provides high-temperature resistance and extended tool life, particularly in hardened steels, stainless, and high-temp alloys. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge cutting as well as peripheral and slot milling.
This end mill is suited for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where tight tolerances and radiused corner profiles are required. Its 13/16 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The VS Series designation indicates variable index and variable helix geometry, which reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts. Machinists working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this tool applicable to both roughing and finishing strategies where a corner break is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard straight-bore end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe mode before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and torque the retention screw or collet nut per the toolholder specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR rating of 0.0017 inch after installation.
