The ACCUPRO 95172640 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter and a 0.0150 inch corner radius, it produces controlled edge transitions that reduce stress concentration in finished parts. The 4-flute geometry with variable index and variable helix minimizes chatter and improves surface finish at aggressive feed rates. An AlCrTiN PVD coating provides high-temperature and oxidation resistance, making this tool well suited for dry or near-dry machining. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops and production environments rely on this configuration for consistent, repeatable results.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations on ferrous alloys, stainless steel, hardened steels, and similar difficult-to-machine materials where an AlCrTiN coating delivers a performance advantage. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry, enabling slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations without repositioning. The 1/2 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length suit standard short-reach applications in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The VS Series designation indicates a variable-geometry platform optimized for vibration damping in high-speed setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment end mill for CNC machining centers accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change mode is engaged before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or tool holder. Verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0030 inches after seating the tool. Confirm collet size and holder bore match the 1/4 inch shank diameter before clamping.
