The ACCUPRO 95168489 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-heat cutting operations where tool life and surface finish matter. The 0.0600-inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and leaves a consistent radius on workpiece corners. With 5 flutes and a 45-degree helix, this single-end, centercutting tool delivers smooth chip evacuation and efficient material removal. It is sized at 3/8 inches in diameter with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes on ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast iron, and high-temp alloys where AlTiN coatings perform well. The long flute length supports deeper axial cuts in a single pass, and the centercutting design allows plunge entry. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this geometry when part drawings call for a defined corner radius rather than a sharp 90-degree inside corner. It suits both job shops and production environments running harder workpiece materials at elevated spindle speeds.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch shank end mill suitable for CNC machining centers and knee mills equipped with collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tooling.
