The ACCUPRO 95168398 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard materials. Built from micrograin carbide stock, this single-end tool carries a 5/16-inch cutting diameter with a 1-3/8-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length. The nACRo coating provides high oxidation resistance and hardness, making it suited for elevated-temperature cutting environments. A variable helix flute geometry reduces harmonic chatter, improving surface finish and tool life during profiling and slotting passes. Four spiral flutes with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction deliver efficient chip evacuation. The 5/16-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for straightforward tool holder fitment.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous metals, stainless steels, and hardened materials. The variable helix design makes it a common choice where chatter suppression is a priority, such as in thin-wall part machining or long-reach finishing passes. Centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry. It is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, tool-and-die, and production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16-inch straight shank end mill in a collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended grip length and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
