The ACCUPRO 95168273 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, 3D profiles, and complex geometries in metal and composite materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for demanding cutting operations. The tool carries an AlTiN coating for improved heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length, it fits standard 1/4 inch collets and tool holders. A licensed machinist or CNC programmer typically selects and runs this tool in milling applications requiring tight tolerances and fine surface finishes.
This ball end mill is suited for CNC vertical machining centers, manual knee mills, and multi-axis milling machines in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. It is commonly used for finishing passes on hardened steels, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, and similar materials where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute direction are compatible with standard CNC spindle rotation. Its variable helix geometry helps reduce chatter during finishing cuts, making it a practical choice for complex contour work in both prototype and production runs.
Designed for use in standard 1/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC and manual milling machines. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against material and machine specifications before use.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut per the tool holder manufacturer guidelines. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
