The ACCUPRO 937-25018 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal NPTF threads in both 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch thread sizes. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiAlN, this tool offers the wear resistance and thermal stability required for threading in harder workpiece materials. It carries 4 flutes, runs at 18 teeth per inch (TPI), and has a cutting diameter of 0.305 inches with a length of cut of 0.625 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this tool in milling applications where thread milling is preferred over tapping.
This thread mill is suited for CNC machining centers performing internal NPTF thread milling operations. The 5/16 inch shank diameter fits standard collet or end mill holders used in vertical and horizontal machining setups. The helical flute design allows the tool to engage the thread form progressively, reducing cutting forces compared to single-pass tapping. It is commonly applied in job shop, production machining, and maintenance machining environments where NPTF pipe thread forms are required in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed for internal NPTF thread milling in CNC machining centers using a 5/16 inch shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC thread milling cycles and toolpath programming. Ensure the tool is properly seated and torqued in the holder before running. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters are set per the machine tool manufacturer recommendations and appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
