The ACCUPRO 936-25018 is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal NPT threads in sizes 1/4 and 3/8. It runs 4 flutes with a micrograin carbide body and a TiAlN coating, giving it strong wear resistance in ferrous and abrasive materials. The cutting diameter measures 0.305 inches with a 0.625-inch length of cut, and the shank diameter is 5/16 inches. At 18 teeth per inch, it is suited for producing tapered pipe threads in a CNC milling operation. This tool is used by machinists and tooling professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This thread mill is applied wherever internal NPT threads in 1/4 or 3/8 pipe sizes must be milled rather than tapped. Helical flute thread mills are commonly selected when thread quality, tool life, or interrupted-cut conditions make single-point tapping impractical. The TiAlN coating supports use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. CNC machining centers with rigid spindles and appropriate thread-milling G-code cycles are the standard installation platform for this tool.

This tool is installed by machinists in CNC milling setups using a collet or end mill holder sized for a 5/16-inch shank. Verify that the machine control supports helical interpolation and that the correct thread-milling canned cycle is programmed for NPT taper geometry before cutting. Inspect the tool for edge condition before use and replace at the first sign of coating wear or chipping to avoid thread-form errors. No hand-tool or manual-tap installation method applies to this product.
