The ACCUPRO 778562 is a tension and compression tapping chuck with a CAT40 taper shank connection, designed for CNC machining centers and tapping operations where controlled axial float is required. It accepts taps up to 9/16 inches in capacity and provides a 4.25-inch projection from the gauge line to the adapter seat. The quick-change design accommodates a Size 1 tap adapter, allowing fast tool changes without removing the chuck body from the spindle. This chuck is installed and used by machinists and tool-room technicians in production and job-shop environments.

The 778562 is suited for vertical and horizontal machining centers equipped with CAT40 spindle interfaces. It is commonly used in applications requiring rigid-style tapping where machine synchronization is not available or where the tension-compression float compensates for minor feed-rate discrepancies. Pipe tap capacity ranges from 1/8 inches, making it applicable for both standard and pipe thread tapping work. Through-coolant is not supported on this chuck body.
