The ACCUPRO 77712271 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive materials. Built with a 140-degree split point and AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this bit delivers fast penetration, reduced heat buildup, and extended tool life compared to uncoated or HSS alternatives. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust requirements at the start of each cut. At 0.3750 inches in diameter with an overall length of 110 millimeters, it covers a broad range of production drilling tasks. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working in aerospace, die and mold, and general metalworking applications are the primary users.
This drill is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating performance and carbide rigidity are required. The straight cylindrical shank with a 10-millimeter shank diameter seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet systems. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a 59.50-millimeter flute length, it supports drilling depths up to 1.875 inches in a single pass. Coolant-through capability makes it appropriate for high-speed CNC machining centers where internal coolant delivery is available.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a straight cylindrical shank with a 10-millimeter shank diameter. Suitable for standard drill chucks and ER collet systems configured for 3/8-inch or 10-millimeter tooling.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with speeds, feeds, and toolholding requirements for solid carbide drills. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended grip depth before operation — insufficient shank engagement can cause tool pullout or breakage. Solid carbide is brittle; avoid interrupted cuts, side loads, or manual drilling applications where flex or shock loads are likely. Always verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before running carbide tooling at high RPM.
