The ACCUPRO 77711950 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 1/2 inch (0.5000 inch) diameter with a 140-degree split point and AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating for extended tool life and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust forces and improves chip evacuation. With a straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute configuration, this bit fits standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers. It is suited for machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance professionals who require consistent, repeatable hole quality in ferrous and hard alloy workpieces.
This drill bit is built for production and job-shop environments where tool life and hole accuracy matter. The AlTiN coating performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions, making it a practical choice for drilling alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and similarly hard materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides sufficient flute length for chip clearance in deeper holes. Maximum drilling depth is 2.5000 inches (63.50 mm), and the two-flute spiral design supports efficient chip removal in through-hole and blind-hole applications.
Designed as a jobber-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with a standard straight-shank chuck or collet system accepting a 14.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify recommended speeds and feeds for the target material before beginning a cut. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant supply lines and pressure are within the machine tool manufacturer specifications before operation.
