The ACCUPRO 775434 is a CAT40 taper shank shell mill holder designed for milling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers. It features a 1-1/4 inch pilot diameter and a projection of 4 inches from flange to nose end. Through-spindle and DIN flange coolant delivery are both supported, directing coolant directly to the cutting zone for improved tool life and chip evacuation. The holder maintains a TIR of 0.0002 inches, providing the runout accuracy required for face milling and shell mill operations. A 5/8-18 lock screw thread secures the shell mill body. This holder is installed by CNC machinists and setup technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 775434 is suited for face milling and surface finishing applications where shell mills in the 3 to 3-1/2 inch cutting diameter range are used. It fits machining centers equipped with CAT40 spindles, which are common in mid-size vertical machining centers (VMCs) and horizontal machining centers (HMCs) across both job shop and production floor settings. The through-spindle and DIN flange dual coolant configuration makes it appropriate for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coolant management at the tool face is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style shell mill holder for machining centers with CAT40 spindle interfaces, accepting shell mills with a 1-1/4 inch pilot bore in the 3 to 3-1/2 inch cutting diameter range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a properly rated tool presetter or torque wrench on the lock screw to the shell mill manufacturer specification — do not over-torque or improvise with substitute fasteners. Clean the CAT40 taper and spindle bore thoroughly before seating the holder to protect TIR performance. Verify runout at the pilot nose with a dial indicator after installation before returning the machine to cycle.
