The ACCUPRO 771812 is a Double Angle (DA180 series) collet chuck designed for precision CNC milling and machining center applications. It accepts a CAT40 Dual Contact Taper shank and accommodates collets with a capacity range of 0.046 to 0.75 inches. Projection measures 4 inches with an overall length of 6-11/16 inches. Total Indicated Runout (TIR) is held to 0.001 inches, and the chuck is balanced to 20,000 RPM for high-speed spindle use. Through-spindle and DIN flange coolant delivery are supported. The unit weighs 3 pounds.
This chuck is suited for use on CAT40-spindle vertical and horizontal machining centers in both production and job-shop environments. It is commonly used where high rotational speed, coolant-through capability, and tight runout tolerances are required simultaneously. The DA180 collet series is a widely adopted double angle format, making replacement collets straightforward to source. Typical applications include end milling, drilling, and reaming operations where spindle balance and concentricity directly affect surface finish and tool life.
Designed for use with CAT40-spindle machining centers that accept Dual Contact Taper toolholders. Compatible with DA180 series double angle collets with capacity from 0.046 to 0.75 inches.
Installation and removal of taper-shank toolholders should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Clean the CAT40 taper bore and toolholder shank thoroughly before seating to ensure full dual-contact engagement. Use the appropriate spanner wrench or collet nut tightening tool for the 1.44 inches hex and collet nut diameter — do not use makeshift tools that can damage the nut or collet seating surfaces. Inspect TIR at setup with a dial indicator to confirm concentricity before beginning a production run.
