The ACCUPRO 771198 is a CAT40 dual contact taper shank shell mill holder designed for milling operations requiring rigidity and precision. It accepts shell mills with a 1-inch pilot diameter and provides 4 inches of projection from flange to nose end, giving clearance for face milling and large-diameter cutter work. The dual contact taper shank engages both the taper and the spindle face simultaneously, reducing runout and improving stability at higher RPM. Balanced to 10,000 RPM and rated to a TIR of 0.0002 inches, this holder is suited for demanding CNC machining center applications. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians.

This holder is configured for horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers equipped with a CAT40 spindle interface. It accepts shell mill cutters ranging from 2-1/4 to 2-3/4 inches in cutting diameter. The through-spindle and DIN flange coolant delivery system supports both internal coolant and flange-directed coolant flow, making it appropriate for applications where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical.
