The ACCUPRO 75561761 is a DCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It carries ANSI code DCMT21.51 and ISO code DCMT070204, featuring a diamond (rhombic) 55-degree included angle and a 7-degree relief angle with positive side clearance. The insert is manufactured from carbide in grade ACM25P with a PVD coating and WM+ chip breaker geometry, making it well-suited for steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloy workpieces where wear resistance and toughness are critical. Neutral hand orientation allows flexible tool holder compatibility. Each insert provides two usable cutting edges.
This insert is intended for finish to semi-finish turning on steel (P-class), stainless steel (M-class), and special or super alloys (S-class). The ACM25P grade with PVD coating delivers high wear resistance across steel and stainless applications and moderate wear resistance with toughness for challenging super alloy cuts. Typical applications include contour turning, profiling, and light facing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. The 0.40 mm corner radius (0.0157 inches) suits fine finishing operations with minimal nose radius-induced vibration.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for DCMT-style tool holders accepting ANSI code DCMT21.51 or ISO code DCMT070204 inserts with screw-type insert holding and M-tolerance fit.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a torx or hex key to seat the insert under the clamping screw in a compatible DCMT screw-lock tool holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is secured in the turret before indexing or replacing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure. Index to the second cutting edge only when the first edge shows wear; do not re-use edges that show chipping or thermal cracking.
