The ACCUPRO 75554907 is a CNMG-style indexable carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a C-diamond (rhombic) 80-degree insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a CVD coating applied over a carbide substrate. The ACM20P grade delivers high to moderate wear resistance paired with adequate toughness, making it well suited for continuous and semi-interrupted cuts. The insert has a 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius, a thickness of 0.1252 inches, and an inscribed circle of 0.3752 inches. Four usable cutting edges are provided per insert.
This insert is intended for use in production turning of steel and stainless steel workpieces. It performs best in applications where surface finish consistency and tool life are priorities over aggressive stock removal. Typical install scenarios include OD turning, facing, and light profiling on CNC lathes operated by machinists and tooling technicians in job shop or production environments. The IPK+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 0.1654 inches (4.20 mm).
Designed for use in CNMG-style toolholders accepting ANSI insert code CNMG321 or ISO insert code CNMG090304 with a negative clearance (N) and tolerance code M. Suitable for steel (P) and stainless steel (M) primary workpiece material classifications per ISO turning grade designations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque driver for the insert holding method in use — clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw styles are all supported — and follow the toolholder manufacturer's seating procedure to ensure full insert contact with the pocket. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before seating each new cutting edge.
