The ACCUPRO 75551473 is a carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ANSI insert code VCGT331 and ISO insert code VCGT160404, placing it in the V-diamond 35-degree rhombic shape class. The insert features a PVD coating and LMF+ chip breaker geometry, which together support high wear resistance with adequate toughness across demanding workpiece materials. A 0.40mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius and positive side clearance geometry make this insert well suited for finishing and light semi-finish passes where edge sharpness and surface finish are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert using the standard screw-holding method.
This insert is intended for turning applications on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and special and super alloys (ISO material group S). The ACCUPRO CI series grade ACM15S delivers high to moderate wear resistance with moderate toughness, making it appropriate for gummy, work-hardening, and high-temperature alloy materials commonly found in aerospace, medical, and process-industry components. Maximum depth of cut is 1.35mm (0.0531 inch), positioning this insert in light-to-moderate stock removal applications where dimensional accuracy and surface integrity are priorities.
Designed for use in VCGT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders that accept a V-shaped 35-degree insert with an inscribed circle of 0.3752 inch (9.53mm) and a clearance code C, tolerance code G configuration. Verify toolholder pocket specifications before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures followed. Use the correct torque driver for the insert-clamping screw to avoid cracking the carbide substrate or stripping the screw seat. Inspect the toolholder pocket and screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Index or replace the insert at the first sign of edge wear to prevent workpiece damage or insert fracture.
