The ACCUPRO 75549550 is a DCMT-style carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a diamond (rhombic) 55-degree insert shape, a PVD coating applied over a carbide substrate, and a neutral hand orientation. The ACM25P manufacturer grade delivers high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. With a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm), this insert suits finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish are priorities. The WM+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during steel and stainless steel turning.
This insert is suited for production and job-shop turning applications involving steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloys. The ACM25P grade covers a wide performance window: high wear resistance for steel (P-class materials), high to moderate wear resistance for stainless steel (M-class), and moderate wear resistance with toughness for special and super alloys (S-class). It installs into standard DCMT-compatible toolholders and is appropriate for both roughing transitions and light finishing cuts on mill-turn centers or conventional lathes.
Designed as a drop-in replacement for standard DCMT32.52 (ANSI) and DCMT11T308 (ISO) toolholders accepting screw-held DCMT inserts with a tolerance code M and clearance code C.
DCMT turning inserts are installed and replaced by machinists and CNC operators. Before changing an insert, confirm the spindle is stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or powered-down state. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to loosen the clamp screw and seat the new insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before re-torquing. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris that could prevent proper seating and cause premature edge failure.
