The ACCUPRO 75496992 is a carbide turning insert designed for single-point turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured to ANSI code SNMG432 and ISO code SNMG120408, this insert features a square shape with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0315-inch corner radius. The CVD coating and ACK20P grade deliver high wear resistance on steel (P-class) and cast iron (K-class) workpiece materials. Neutral hand orientation and a negative side clearance make this insert compatible with standard SNMG toolholders using clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods. Machinists and toolroom operators specify this insert for medium to finish turning passes where edge life and dimensional consistency are the priority.
This insert is suited for production turning of steel and cast iron components in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing environments. The 909+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during continuous cuts. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.2953 inches, it handles roughing passes at moderate material removal rates as well as semi-finish operations. The insert thickness of 0.1874 inches and a hole diameter of 0.2043 inches conform to standard SNMG seat dimensions, making it a direct fit in existing SNMG toolholder blocks without modification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for SNMG-style toolholders accepting a square insert with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, tolerance code M, and clearance code N. Compatible with clamp, lever lock, pin, and screw holding methods as specified by ANSI size code 432 and ISO size code 120408.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a full stop, lockout-tagout condition. Ensure the toolholder seat and clamping components are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Refer to the toolholder manufacturer's torque specification for the clamping screw. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and index or replace the insert when chipping or excessive flank wear is observed.
