The ACCUPRO 75475855 is a carbide turning insert in the SCMT style, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It follows ANSI code SCMT32.52 and ISO code SCMT09T308. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.80 mm (0.0315 inch) corner radius. The CVD coating and ACK10P grade deliver high wear resistance across steel and cast iron applications. A neutral hand orientation and positive side clearance make this insert suitable for a wide range of turning toolholders. It is held in place by a screw-lock method and offers 4 usable cutting edges per insert.
This insert is intended for production and maintenance turning in metalworking environments. It is engineered for cutting steel (P-class workpieces) requiring high wear resistance and cast iron (K-class workpieces) with the same wear-resistance demand. Typical applications include OD turning, shoulder turning, and facing passes on ferrous materials. The WM+ chip breaker geometry supports medium-range cutting conditions. Machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments are the primary users of this insert.
Designed for use in SCMT-style screw-lock turning toolholders accepting SCMT32.52 (ANSI) or SCMT09T308 (ISO) inserts. Confirm toolholder pocket geometry and insert seat dimensions before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked out. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified method - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert. Verify insert index or replacement does not alter programmed tool offsets before resuming a cut.
