The ACCUPRO 75475780 is a DCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a CVD coating applied over a carbide substrate, and a neutral hand orientation. The corner radius measures 0.0157 inches (0.40 mm), making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required. With a positive side clearance and a 7-degree relief angle, this insert reduces cutting forces and minimizes workpiece deflection during operation. It is held in place by a screw-clamp method and carries grade ACM20P for high wear resistance with moderate toughness.
This insert is intended for turning steel (P-class) and stainless steel (M-class) workpieces. The ACM20P grade delivers high to moderate wear resistance alongside moderate toughness, covering a wide range of cutting conditions from continuous cuts to mildly interrupted passes. The WM+ chip breaker geometry promotes effective chip control during both finishing and light roughing operations. It fits tool holders designed for DCMT070204 (ISO) or DCMT21.51 (ANSI) inserts. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users. Sold individually; minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed for use in tool holders accepting DCMT21.51 (ANSI) or DCMT070204 (ISO) inserts. Compatible primary workpiece materials are steel (P-class) and stainless steel (M-class) per the ACM20P grade specification.
Installation and indexing of turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop, locked-out condition before handling. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the tool-holder manufacturer's recommended torque - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert, and confirm the insert is fully seated before resuming cuts. Dispose of used carbide inserts per local regulations for hazardous materials.
