Product Description

The ACCUPRO 75475509 is a DCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a positive side clearance geometry, making it well-suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations. The insert is manufactured from CVD-coated carbide in ACCUPRO grade ACP35M, a formulation balanced for wear resistance and toughness across steel, stainless steel, and special alloy workpiece materials. The WM+ chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip control during turning. With a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm), this insert delivers consistent performance in demanding production environments.

The 75475509 is intended for use in ISO DCMT070208 and ANSI DCMT21.52 compatible toolholders. It is suited for external turning applications on steel (ISO material group P), stainless steel (M), and special and super alloys (S). The neutral hand orientation allows use in both right- and left-hand toolholder configurations. This insert is installed using a screw-type clamping method, standard on most DCMT-compatible boring bars and turning shanks. It is a practical choice for job shops and production turning operations where a single insert grade must handle multiple workpiece material families.

Key Features

  • CVD-coated carbide construction in grade ACP35M for high wear resistance and broad material compatibility
  • 55-degree diamond insert shape (code D) with positive side clearance for reduced cutting forces
  • WM+ chip breaker for controlled chip formation on steel, stainless, and super alloy workpieces
  • Corner radius of 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm) for fine surface finish in finishing passes
  • Maximum depth of cut of 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm) suitable for finishing and light semi-finishing
  • Two cutting edges per insert; screw-held mounting for secure, repeatable indexing

Compatibility

Designed for use in toolholders accepting ISO DCMT070208 and ANSI DCMT21.52 format inserts with a screw-type insert holding method. Compatible with primary workpiece material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (special and super alloys).

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before seating a new edge, as debris under the insert will affect runout and surface finish. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque specification for the insert screw.
