The ACCUPRO 75474692 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from CVD-coated carbide in grade ACM20P, this insert delivers high wear resistance across a range of cutting conditions. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry, while the positive side clearance and 7-degree relief angle reduce cutting forces and tool pressure. The 0.0157 inch (0.40 mm) corner radius supports general-purpose finishing and semi-finishing passes. With two usable cutting edges per insert, service life is extended between toolholder changes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling steel and stainless steel components are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for turning steel and stainless steel workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The ACM20P grade is characterized as high wear-resistance to moderate wear-resistance and toughness for P-class (steel) and M-class (stainless steel) workpiece materials. The WM+ chip breaker geometry is designed for light to medium depth-of-cut applications, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1181 inch (3.00 mm). Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and contour finishing where dimensional consistency and surface finish are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CCMT-style toolholders accepting ANSI insert code CCMT21.51 or ISO insert code CCMT060204 with a screw-clamp holding method.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure repeatable edge positioning.
