The ACCUPRO 75297499 is a WNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for use on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries ANSI code WNMG433 and ISO code WNMG080412, making it a direct cross-reference for shops sourcing by either standard. The insert is manufactured from carbide with a CVD coating and falls under ACCUPRO grade ACP25M, which is engineered for high wear-resistance across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. With a trigon 80-degree insert shape, six cutting edges, and a neutral hand orientation, this insert delivers consistent performance in high-volume turning operations.
This insert is suited for general-purpose and precision turning in both production and job-shop environments. The ACP25M grade targets ISO material groups P, M, and K, covering carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, and cast irons. It is appropriate for finishing to semi-roughing cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1969 inches (5.00 mm). The WR+ chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation across these material groups. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking, manufacturing, and toolroom settings are the primary installers.
Designed for use in standard WNMG-style toolholders accepting a 0.500-inch inscribed circle insert with negative clearance and M-tolerance, compatible with clamp, lever lock, pin, and screw holding methods.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-crib technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed away from the work zone before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and engage the appropriate clamping mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification before resuming cuts. Inspect the cutting edge and seating surface for chips or debris prior to clamping to prevent insert rocking or premature edge failure.
