The ACCUPRO 75297176 is a WNMG-style indexable carbide turning insert designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the ANSI code WNMG331 and ISO code WNMG060404, identifying its trigon 80-degree W-shape geometry. The insert features a CVD coating in grade ACP25M, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials. With six cutting edges available per insert, it delivers a low cost-per-edge profile suited for high-volume production turning. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops and production environments are the primary installers.
This insert is intended for turning steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) workpieces where controlled chip formation and edge durability are required. The WM+ chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium to finishing passes on these material groups. A neutral hand orientation allows use in a wide range of toolholder setups. The 0.0157-inch corner radius supports semi-finish to finish turning where surface finish requirements are moderate. Maximum depth of cut is 0.1575 inches, making it appropriate for light to medium stock removal passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for WNMG331 and WNMG060404 indexable turning insert applications. Compatible with toolholders specifying clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw insert-holding methods designed for WNMG-style inserts with a negative clearance geometry.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench or insert key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing clamp or screw-style locking mechanisms — do not overtighten. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper edge presentation and repeatability.
