The ACCUPRO 75283614 is a TNMG-style indexable carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It carries the ANSI code TNMG331 and ISO code TNMG160404, identifying a triangular insert with a neutral hand orientation, a 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius, and six usable cutting edges. The CVD coating and ACP15K grade deliver high wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials, making this insert a reliable choice for production turning environments where tool life and consistent surface finish are priorities.
This insert is suited for turning steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The WM+ chip breaker geometry supports moderate feed rates and depths of cut up to 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches), helping control chip formation across varying cutting conditions. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machining environments. The negative side clearance (N clearance code, M tolerance code) is consistent with standard TNMG toolholders that use clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for TNMG331 (ISO: TNMG160404) indexable insert seats using clamp, lever lock, pin, or screw holding methods. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes P (steel), M (stainless steel), and K (cast iron).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the pocket before tightening the clamping mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified method. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before each insert index to avoid seating errors that can cause premature edge failure.
