The ACCUPRO 75282673 is a VCMT-style carbide turning insert engineered for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. Identified by ANSI code VCMT331 and ISO code VCMT160404, this insert features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a 7-degree relief angle, providing a positive side clearance geometry that reduces cutting forces on finishing and semi-finishing passes. The CVD coating, applied over a carbide substrate in grade ACM20P, delivers high wear resistance with moderate toughness. The 0.0315-inch corner radius suits tight-tolerance turning where surface finish is critical. A neutral hand designation makes it compatible with both left- and right-hand toolholders using screw-lock holding. Machinists and CNC turning technicians are the primary installers of this consumable insert.
This insert is intended for turning steel and stainless steel workpiece materials, covering ISO material groups P and M. The ACM20P grade targets high wear-resistance to moderate wear-resistance and toughness across those material groups, making it appropriate for continuous and light interrupted cuts on components such as shafts, flanges, and fittings. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.0886 inches (2.25 mm) and an inscribed circle of 0.3752 inches (9.53 mm), this insert suits light to medium stock removal in production turning environments. Installation is performed by CNC or manual lathe operators and toolroom technicians. Power down or place the machine in an E-stop state before changing inserts.
