The ACCUPRO 75261784 is a VCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision external turning, boring, and profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from carbide with a PVD coating and the ACM25P manufacturer grade, this insert delivers high wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.0157-inch (0.40 mm) corner radius. The WSF+ chip breaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during finishing and semi-finishing passes. Neutral hand orientation allows use in either direction of cut. The screw-in holding method provides secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning steel, stainless steel, and special or super alloys in both production and job-shop environments. The ACM25P grade with PVD coating targets applications requiring high wear resistance when cutting steel (ISO P), high to moderate wear resistance and toughness on stainless steel (ISO M), and moderate wear resistance and toughness on special and super alloys (ISO S). Typical users are CNC machinists and tooling specialists working with finishing cuts and tight-tolerance diameters. Sold individually; minimum order quantity is 10 units.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for VCMT331 (ANSI) and VCMT160404 (ISO) style insert pockets. Compatible with any toolholder accepting a VCMT-style insert with a C clearance code, M tolerance code, and screw-in holding method. Verify pocket geometry and screw size against toolholder manufacturer specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, wear, or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
