The ACCUPRO 75260729 is a square carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC and manual lathes. Carrying ANSI code SCMT431 and ISO code SCMT120404, this insert features a CVD coating, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive side clearance geometry. The WM+ chip breaker promotes controlled chip flow during roughing and semi-finishing passes. With four usable cutting edges per insert, it delivers extended tool life per unit. Manufacturer grade ACM20P targets high to moderate wear resistance and toughness, making it well suited for steel and stainless steel turning applications.
This insert is intended for use in CNC turning centers and conventional lathes in production and job-shop environments. It performs on P-class workpiece materials (carbon and alloy steels) and M-class materials (stainless steels), covering a broad range of ferrous turning applications. The 0.1181-inch maximum depth of cut and 0.0157-inch corner radius suit finish to semi-finish turning passes where surface quality and edge integrity are priorities. Installation requires a compatible SCMT-style toolholder with screw clamping. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; each package contains 1 insert.
Designed for use in SCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders accepting a square insert with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, 0.1874-inch insert thickness, and a 0.2205-inch hole diameter. Compatible with P-class and M-class workpiece materials as defined by ISO turning material classifications.
Turning inserts of this type are installed and indexed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder pocket. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert body. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a fresh edge.
