The ACCUPRO 75241166 is a GD-style grooving insert designed for precision groove-turning and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to grade ACP35K with a CVD coating, it delivers controlled cutting performance in steel and similar workpiece materials. The insert features a 0.2362-inch (6.000 mm) cutting width and a 0.0157-inch (0.40 mm) corner radius, making it suited for consistent groove geometry with minimal runout. Its positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces, and the GPP chip breaker promotes reliable chip evacuation during interrupted or continuous cuts. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as a direct replacement in compatible grooving toolholders across production and job-shop environments.
This insert fits standard CI-series grooving systems that accept GD-style inserts with a size code 24 designation. It is appropriate for external grooving, face grooving, and light parting applications on ferrous materials in both high-production and prototype turning work. The multi-use designation allows it to serve across multiple compatible toolholder setups, reducing the need to stock separate insert styles for similar operations. Holding methods include clamp, screw, and self-grip configurations, giving the toolholder selection flexibility at the machine.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CI-series grooving toolholders that accept GD-style inserts at size code 24. Multi-use tool designation supports use across compatible toolholder configurations.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping seat for chips or debris before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for clamping screws — do not over-torque self-grip or screw-type seats. Confirm insert seating and edge orientation before resuming machine operation.
