The ACCUPRO 75209254 is a GD-style grooving insert designed for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. With a cutting width of 0.1181 inches (3.000 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0591 inches (1.50 mm), this insert delivers clean, repeatable groove profiles in a wide range of workpiece materials. Manufactured to the ACP30M grade with a PVD coating and positive rake geometry, it is suited for moderate to high cutting speeds. The GMR chip breaker promotes effective chip control and reduces built-up edge during continuous grooving passes.
This insert fits into the CI series toolholding system and is held in place by clamp, screw, or self-grip mounting methods, giving the machinist flexibility across multiple tool body configurations. It is appropriate for production and job-shop turning environments where consistent groove width and surface finish are required. The multi-use designation means a single insert can serve across compatible tool bodies in the CI series, reducing tooling inventory requirements. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and in a locked-out state. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping mechanism to the tool body manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can cause improper seating and premature edge failure. Replace the insert at the first sign of chipping, excessive wear, or degraded surface finish on the workpiece.
