The ACCUPRO 75202028 is a grooving insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the GD insert style with an ACP45M manufacturer grade, it features a PVD coating for improved wear resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The cutting width measures 0.1969 inches (5.000 mm), and the corner radius is 0.0157 inches (0.40 mm). A positive rake geometry and integrated GMP chip breaker promote efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install these inserts as part of routine tooling maintenance or when changing groove profiles.
This insert is suited for external and internal grooving applications in both production and job-shop environments. The CI series designation places it within a standardized toolholder family, allowing straightforward insert changeover. Compatible holding methods include clamp, screw, and self-grip systems, giving it flexibility across multiple toolholder configurations. Typical applications include groove turning on steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials where consistent width and corner geometry are critical. The multi-use tool designation indicates suitability across varied grooving scenarios within its size class.
Designed for use with CI series toolholders that accept GD style grooving inserts with a size code 24, using clamp, screw, or self-grip holding methods.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and spindle locked before insert changeover. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the pocket before securing via the designated holding method to avoid micro-movement under cutting load. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for clamping screws.
