The ACCUPRO 75201798 is a GD-style grooving insert engineered for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a cutting width of 0.1181 inches (3.000 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0591 inches (1.50 mm), making it well-suited for consistent, repeatable groove profiles. The insert is manufactured in the ACP30M grade with a PVD coating and a GPR chip breaker geometry. The positive rake configuration reduces cutting forces and aids chip evacuation. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of the CI series tooling system.
This grooving insert is intended for use in turning and grooving applications across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The GPR chip breaker geometry supports reliable chip control during shallow grooving passes. The positive rake and PVD coating help maintain edge integrity during extended production runs. Insert holding is compatible with clamp, screw, and self-grip style toolholders, giving shops flexibility across existing CI series setups. It is suited for both production and job-shop turning environments.
Designed for use with CI series toolholders that accept GD-style grooving inserts with a size code 24. Compatible with clamp, screw, and self-grip insert holding methods. Verify toolholder pocket geometry against insert size code 24 specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state before any insert change. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and confirm the holding method is engaged and torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert seating surface and pocket for chips or debris before clamping. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements during tooling changes.
