The ACCUPRO 72089451 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, six flutes, and an AlTiN+ coating that provides oxidation resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. With a 2.5 inch length of cut and a 0.060 inch corner radius, this tool handles deep-cavity milling while protecting workpiece edges. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting, centercutting tool with a 5 inch overall length.
This end mill is engineered for milling high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-cut materials commonly found in aerospace, energy, and industrial manufacturing. The AlTiN+ coating sustains hardness at high cutting temperatures, making it suitable for dry or minimum-quantity lubrication (MQL) machining strategies. It fits 1/2 inch collet or end mill holders and is used in vertical machining centers and horizontal mills running appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
Designed for use in 1/2 inch end mill holders or collet chucks on CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers. Primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S), including nickel superalloys and titanium. Part of the ACCUPRO HS series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the set screw or collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces corner radius accuracy.
