The ACCUPRO 72086895 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built with a 0.5 inch diameter, 6-flute geometry, and an AlTiN+ coating, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and extended tool life in high-temp alloys and similarly difficult workpiece materials. The 0.12 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, improving surface finish and tool durability. Variable helix and variable index geometry minimize harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, defense, medical, and energy sectors where high-temp alloys are common.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling centers running high-temp alloys such as titanium, Inconel, and similar S-class materials. With a 1.625 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length on a 0.5 inch straight shank, it fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The single-end, centercutting design supports both peripheral and plunge milling operations. It is best applied in finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge integrity and surface finish are critical.
Designed for machining high-temp alloys (material code S), including titanium and nickel-based superalloys. Fits standard 0.5 inch toolholders. Verify runout and holder concentricity before use in tight-tolerance applications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in an e-stop or lockout state. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or damage before each use. AlTiN+ coated carbide tools should not be used with coolants that contain high concentrations of sulfur or chlorine, as these can degrade the coating.
