The ACCUPRO 72086010 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built with a 0.5-inch diameter, six flutes, and a 0.060-inch corner radius, it delivers controlled edge geometry suited to finishing and semi-finishing passes. The AlTiN+ coating provides elevated heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature workpiece materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic chatter during the cut, improving surface finish and dimensional consistency. This tool is sized and specified for use by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working in job shop, aerospace, and high-precision manufacturing environments.
The 72086010 is engineered primarily for cutting high-temp alloys, classified under workpiece material code S. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. With a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length on a 0.5-inch shank, this end mill fits standard ER and straight-shank toolholders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The centercutting design allows plunge entry where needed.
Designed as a single-end corner radius end mill for use in standard 0.5-inch straight-shank or collet-style toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temp alloy (material code S).
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or tool-change state. Seat the 0.5-inch shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Handle solid carbide end mills carefully to avoid edge chipping from contact with hard surfaces.
