The ACCUPRO 72085798 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in high-temperature alloys and other difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. The tool features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, six flutes, and a 1.625 inch length of cut, making it well suited for applications that require both high metal removal rates and a refined edge finish. An AlTiN+ coating improves heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic chatter, which is critical when machining aerospace-grade and other superalloy components. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers where high-temperature alloys such as Inconel, titanium, and similar S-category workpiece materials are common. The single-end configuration and 4 inch overall length suit it to standard ER or side-lock toolholders. It is primarily installed and applied by CNC machinists and tooling specialists in aerospace, defense, and precision job-shop environments. The 0.02 inch corner radius protects the cutting edge from chipping during interrupted cuts and profiling passes in tough materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use with standard 0.5 inch bore toolholders in CNC milling applications. Primary workpiece material designation is High-Temp Alloy (material code S) per the supplier specification.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to the recommended gauge length and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a fine-geometry tool of this type.
