The ACCUPRO 72076474 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials, including high-temperature alloys. With a 0.3750-inch mill diameter, six flutes, and a variable helix angle of 36 to 40 degrees, this tool is engineered for stability and efficient chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine workpieces. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting operations. It is a single-end, centercutting tool with a right-hand cutting and flute direction, making it suitable for interpolation, profiling, and plunge milling applications in production machining environments.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are required. It is sized for work in high-temp alloys (material code S), which includes nickel-based and titanium alloys common in aerospace and industrial manufacturing. The 1.0000-inch length of cut and 3.0000-inch overall length suit both roughing and finishing passes on medium-depth features. Variable index geometry reduces harmonic chatter, improving tool life and dimensional accuracy in difficult materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide ball end mill for CNC milling applications involving high-temperature alloys, consistent with the ACCUPRO HS series for fractional inch tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the straight shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring full engagement depth per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces surface finish quality. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for carbide tooling in high-temp alloy materials.
