The ACCUPRO 72074578 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 3/8-inch diameter, six flutes, and an AlTiN+ coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in difficult-to-machine applications. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter during cutting. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand flute direction and cutting direction. Machinists and tooling professionals use this end mill in CNC machining centers for precision profiling, slotting, and finishing operations where tight tolerances and surface finish quality matter.
This end mill is engineered for primary use in high-temperature alloys, identified under workpiece material code S. Typical applications include aerospace, power generation, and industrial component machining where nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar hard materials are encountered. The 3/4-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length suit it for standard-depth passes in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 0.030-inch corner radius reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at corners, making it well suited for finishing passes and semi-finish profiling in tight-tolerance work.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 3/8-inch tool holders or collets. Primary workpiece material designation is high-temperature alloy (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect the cutting edge and workpiece.
