The ACCUPRO 72073158 is a single-end, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding applications. It features a 3/8-inch (0.3750-inch) mill diameter, six flutes, and a 0.0900-inch corner radius. The AlTiN+ coating provides enhanced heat resistance and tool life when cutting hard or abrasive materials. Variable helix and variable index geometry reduce chatter and vibration, improving surface finish and cutting stability. This tool is center-cutting and right-hand fluted with right-hand cutting direction, making it suitable for plunge entry and standard milling operations. It is used by machinists and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is engineered specifically for high-temperature alloys (material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. With a 1/2-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length, it is well suited for shoulder milling, slotting, and profiling in aerospace, medical, and energy-sector component manufacturing. The 3/8-inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter, allowing use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Single-end design means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when worn.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 3/8-inch collet chucks or end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is high-temperature alloy (material code S). Series HS geometry is optimized for superalloys, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the collet for wear or damage before seating, as a worn collet reduces runout performance and shortens tool life. Verify cutting direction is set to right-hand before initiating a cut.
